EN. The film shows a story of struggle between the traditions of arranged marriage and love. Xingxian is a 18 year old girl who finds herself engaged to a 8 year old boy. When a young man her age comes to town, she falls in love. They eventually elope and she become the first girl from her village to break the tradition of arranged marriage.
The phrase Women of the Good Family is used to emphasize that the women is not a hooker. Women are discriminated against in the traditional Confucian teaching already and there was no help in the old Chinese society to help those prostitutes who wanted to get out of the business. The naming of the title of this movie is excellent in that it reflects the cultural introspection that was the hidden theme of this movie.

In Josis Kindergartengruppe gibt es einen Neuzugang: die kleine Paula Münch, die bisher bei ihren Großeltern aufgewachsen ist. Die Geschichte des traurigen Mädchens nimmt Josi bald so sehr gefangen, dass sie ihre eigenen Kinder einmal mehr der Fürsorge von Oma Martha überlässt. Paulas allein stehende Mutter hat endlich eine eigene Wohnung bekommen und möchte, dass ihre Tochter bei ihr lebt. Dabei macht sie dem sensiblen Kind die Trennung von seiner liebevollen Oma nicht gerade leicht. Seit Paula gleich an einem der ersten Abende in der fremden Umgebung allein gelassen wurde, weil ihre Mutter mit dem neuen Freund tanzen ging, leidet sie an Angstzuständen. Außerdem sehnt sich Paula nach einem richtigen Papa, der die kleine Familie nicht nach ein paar Wochen wieder verlässt. Ihre Mutter hat jedoch nach der letzten schweren Enttäuschung kein offenes Ohr mehr für einen ernsthaften Bewerber. Erst als Eva Münch mit einer Lungenentzündung im Krankenhaus liegt, findet ihr Töchterchen Paula auf ihre Art eine Lösung für die Probleme der beiden.

DE. Barfuß ins Bett ist eine 14-teilige Familienserie des Fernsehens der DDR aus den Jahren 1988 bis 1990. Regie führte in der ersten Staffel Peter Wekwerth und in der zweiten Staffel Horst Zaeske, das Drehbuch schrieb Ingrid Föhr.
Dr. Hans Schön, Witwer und viel beschäftigter Oberarzt einer Frauenklinik, hätte die Kindergärtnerin Josi wohl nie richtig kennen gelernt, wäre seine Mutter Martha nicht eines Tages vom Fahrrad gestürzt. Solange die fürsorgliche Oma im Krankenhaus liegt, muss dringend Ersatz für die Betreuung des fünfjährigen Robert gefunden werden, denn Dr. Schöns großer Sohn Clemens verbringt gerade seine Schulferien auf einem Zeltplatz an der Ostsee.
Glücklicherweise erklärt sich Roberts Erzieherin bereit, den aufgeweckten Jungen zu sich zu nehmen. Die Tage mit dem kleinen Robert lenken Josi auch ein bisschen von ihrem eigenen Kummer ab. Sie ist schwanger, doch ihr Freund will das Kind nicht und droht, Josi zu verlassen. Als Oma Martha endlich selbst wieder Haushalt und Kindererziehung übernehmen kann, muss sie feststellen, dass es im Leben von Sohn Hans und Enkel Robert eine neue Frau gibt.

Adam, Evchen, and Manni are looking at the moon through their home-made telescope. Evchen isn't interested, and dismisses the moon as a lump of cheese. Manni, who is a big fan of technology, sees satellites and a car driving over the moon's surface. But Adam hears the moon speak, and hears it ask for flowers to cover its surface. From then on, Adam is determined to breed a kind of flower that can grow on the moon. Although he is made fun of at school and is yelled at by his father, who develops extra-nutritious vegetables for Professor Vitamin, Adam keeps trying. Eventually things take a positive turn. Kondensmaxe, in his airplane, finds Professor Vitamin's old magic greenhouse. It turns out the Professor was herself concerned with developing such a flower, before the war, and is willing to assist Adam in his research. Manni and Evchen support him every step of the way, and so does Adam's grandfather. Eventually Adam's mother even convinces her husband to assist the children...

Peggy Gravel, a neurotic, delusional, suburban housewife, and her overweight maid, Grizelda Brown, go on the lam after Grizelda smothers Peggy's husband, Bosley, to death. The two are arrested by a cross-dressing policeman who gives them an ultimatum: go to jail or be exiled to Mortville, a filthy shantytown ruled by the evil Queen Carlotta and her treasonous daughter, Princess Coo-Coo.
Peggy and Grizelda choose Mortville, but still engage in lesbian prison sex. They become associates of self-hating lesbian wrestler Mole McHenry, who wants a sex change to please her lover, Muffy St. Jacques. Most of Mortville's social outcasts—criminals, nudists, and sexual deviants—conspire to overthrow Queen Carlotta, who banishes Coo-Coo after she elopes with a garbage collector, who is later shot to death by the guards. Coo-Coo hides in Peggy and Grizelda's house with her dead lover. When Peggy betrays Coo-Coo to the Queen's guards, Grizelda fights them, and dies when the house collapses on her. Peggy, however, joins the queen in terrorizing her subjects, even infecting them (and Princess Coo-Coo) with rabies.
Eventually, Mortville's denizens, led by Mole, overthrow Queen Carlotta and execute Peggy by shooting a gun up her anus. To celebrate their freedom, the townsfolk roast Carlotta on a spit and serve her, pig-like, on a platter with an apple in her mouth.

But Teresa has inherited the mental disease that led her mother to suicide. She only wants to live with her brother in her own world, and becomes violent against the rest of people.
'El pacto' (which means 'The pact') is an intense Mexican melodrama, with many of its typical excesses, but also with interesting psychoanalitical elements. Sergio Vejar (camera operator in some Luis Bunuel's most popular films) writes and directs this strange story "based on true facts" with some reminiscences of Bunuel's melodramas.

In this documentary Russian director Vitali Kanevski takes to the streets of St. Petersburg and Moscow to interview street kids. He is surprised to encounter Pavel Nazarov, an impoverished youth who starred in two of Kanevski's best known films. The director asks his subjects direct questions about their crimes. They are equally direct in their responses. Life on the streets is violent and their crimes range from petty theft to murder. Despite the danger, most of the people interviewed preferred it to traditional work.
